Personal Review

Miranda Cowley Heller’s The Paper Palace is a beautifully written novel that captures the reader’s attention from the first page. Heller’s prose is lush and evocative, painting vivid pictures of the Cape Cod setting and the intricate emotions of her characters. The way she handles the non-linear timeline is masterful, gradually revealing crucial details that keep the reader engaged and invested in Elle’s journey.

The strength of the novel lies in its character development. Elle is a deeply flawed yet relatable protagonist, and her internal struggle is portrayed with raw honesty. The supporting characters, from her childhood friend Jonas to her family members, are equally well-drawn, each adding depth to the story.
